We are partnering with an innovative medtech company in Poland to recruit an experienced microbiologist with a strong background in antimicrobial susceptibility testing. This role is pivotal and dedicated to validating, standardizing, and implementing new microbiological methods, contributing to the development of a groundbreaking diagnostic solution.
Duties
• Lead microbiological standardization and validation processes, optimize protocols for microdilution assays.
• Oversee microbiological workflows, including strain bank maintenance and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
• Conduct gap analyses and address existing deficiencies to ensure compliance with ISO 20776, ISO 13485, and CLSI guidelines.
• Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to enhance microbiological workflows.
• Design and execute short- and long-term microbiology projects (1–2 years).
• Maintain thorough documentation to support reproducibility and audits.
• Provide microbiological expertise to inform company-wide decisions.
• Prepare reports and support audit processes.
Required skills
• Strong, significant and documented multi-year experience in clinical, diagnostic, or pharmaceutical microbiology.
• Strong experience in antimicrobial susceptibility testing and microbiological method validation. Experience working with clinical samples and conducting method validation for antibiotic testing.
• Hands-on experience with reference microbiology laboratories, accredited labs, or pharma microbiology environments.
• Previous work in structured, highly regulated environments (e.g., ISO 13485, CRSI, ISO 20776-compliant labs) – expertise in standardisation and method validation in compliance with the aforementioned standards.
• Expertise from reference laboratories, accredited microbiology laboratories, or pharma microbiology labs.
• Experience with microdilution assays and selection of reference strains.
• Strong problem-solving mindset – the ability to troubleshoot experimental discrepancies.
• Structured thinking and project management – the ability to plan and prioritize microbiological initiatives.
• Open-mindedness and adaptability – the ability to understand different perspectives and communication styles.
• Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Polish is welcome but not mandatory.
